About Morvell Dance
Morvell Dance make work that is inspired by personal histories and explores how these stories can shape our experience of living, loving, and evolving through life.
Established in 2017, Morvell Dance was formed by Amy Morvell and produced by Lîla Dance. With Lîla Dance’s support, Morvell Dance received Arts Council funding for Turtle Dove (2017-2019), which successfully toured to theatre venues across the south of England and internationally to Abundance International Dance Festival, Sweden.

Amy Morvell
Amy Morvell is a Dance Artist based in the South of England. From 2019-20 Amy was an Associate Artist at The Point, Eastleigh and is currently the Creative Assistant for Lîla Dance. Amy specialises in choreographing, dancing, filmmaking, rehearsal directing and teaching.

Her artistic practice involves gathering biographical content from communities to create true stories of human experience, reflect shared experience and collective creativity.
Amy toured her own works both across the Southeast of England and to Sweden. See below for the full list of touring venues.

Filmmaker
Amy created her Arts Council funded debut dance film, Moving Portraits in 2021 which is currently available for screening.
In 2020 she created a series of dance films Lockdown Moving Images Series and choreographed dance film We are Home for Darwin Dance. Amy has also produced rehearsal documentaries for Lîla Dance.
Teacher
Amy is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Chichester teaching on both the Dance, Choreography and Performing Arts courses, and on the contemporary dance and choreography courses at the University of Winchester.
Amy also teaches for a variety of other companies including The Pregnant Dancer Project, Hampshire Youth Dance Company, Project Female, Point Youth Dance Company, Wessex Dance Academy, The Open University Milton Keynes, Retrospectif (over 60s dance company at The Point, Eastleigh) and deliver professional classes across the South of England.
Amy is available for hire to deliver both professional and community workshops, tailoring workshops for all abilities.
